Mudbash

20hrs in a car for 2 days of AWESOME!

With 5 short weeks to go, it’s time to start getting exciting for Mudbash 2016!

As per usual, NSW will be sending a contingent down for the duration of the event. For those who don’t know, Mudbash is an annual motorsport event run by the Victorian Rovers over the Queens Birthday long weekend in June. NSW typically has a couple of teams (usually run at a crew level) comprising of current and ex-Rovers who enter in cars. However, you do not need to compete to attend the event. Mudbash is a fantastic social event with some off-site activities as well as plenty of activities on site to keep you busy!

This year tickets are $70 each pre-sale. Pre-sale ends at 11.59pm on the 29th May. Tickets are available at the gate for an increased amount of $90.

For more information about Mudbash 2016, head to their website atwww.mudbash.com. More information in regards to the NSW Contingent will be posted as it becomes available.

Mudbash and Being a Contingent Leader

*****Applications for Mudbash Contingent leader are now CLOSED*****

One of the positive things as mudbash has grown was that the paperwork became more simple for those attending. This means that a contingent leader has been put in charge of each state, to gather the information of those attending so the organisers have one person they can talk to.

I took up this role from 2011-2013 of which the responsibilities include:

  • Gathering names and details of all those attending from NSW and passing it on to Vic Rovers.
  • Passing on information provided by Mudbash to participants.
  • Answering any questions for those who have never been before.
  • Co-ordinating Rovers transport, for those who need it.
  • Helping with any welfare or medical issues which may arise during the camp.
  • Being as social as possible.

On top of this, help has been asked regarding how to build cars in accordance with the CAMS and Mudbash regulations. As a result assistance has been offered to various crews in this regard to build up the interest in participating.

Mudbash should be attended by a Rover at least once in their Rover career.
It is a fantastic experience and a great way to meet like minded people from all over the country.
A lot of effort is put in every year by the organising committee to run a smooth and exciting weekend and Rover participation is encouraged as much as possible.

To apply for the Mudbash Contingent Leader Role, please send an email to activities@nsw.rovers.com.au. The announcement of the contingent leader will come out on the 14th May. Any questions in regards to the role of contingent leader, please do not hesitate to ask!
